The only thing I had to buy for this project was the ball, and it was only $1 from the dollartree.
Supplies
Step 1
First we are going to trace our tube, onto the bottom of the ball. (There is usually a seam in the middle of the ball)
Step 2
Next we are going to take a knife (If you are younger please have an adult do this) and cut along the mark. You don't want to cut out the middle, we are simply cutting a groove for the tube to go in.
Step 3
Then we are going to put hot glue inside the grove, and put our tube in. You can also put hot glue around the tube if you want.
Step 4
Stepping outside (or into a well ventilated area) we are going to spray paint our ball silver. Now you can also use acrylic paint if you want, I just use spray paint cause it's easier. But I will note that if you are using a foam ball as I am, you may want to leave it outside (or in your well ventilated area) overnight to let it air out...Cause it's gonna stink lol.
Step 5
Next, taking a strip from your foamboard long enough to wrap around your ball, we are going to bend it gently to give it the curve we need. Then simply paint it black. Now I also took my razor blade and beveled the edges (again if you are younger, please have an adult do that part)
Step 6
Then we are going to just glue it onto the seam of the ball.
Step 7
Now we are going to cut our tube to the desired length. Mine is 7 inches total, but 1 inch is inside the ball.
Step 8
Using some of the tube I cut, I made a bottom.
Finishing
Finally I just painted the tube black, put a layer of sealer on it and I was done! ^_^
