About Cosplay On A Budget
Cosplay on a budget is a site of tutorials, and helpful tips to help you put together that epic cosplay for your up coming con. Or to just represent your favorite anime/manga/or game while staying on your budget.
Cause after all, there is no point in making the cosplay or accessories, if you end up too broke to go show them off!
Note from Miss Cosplay: I dearly hope this site helps anyone who needs it. I try to create stuff as often, and as fast as I can, but I too am also working on a tight budget. So if this site is not updated with new stuff for awhile, that is why, and I only hope you all are patient with me ^.^

About Miss cosplay and Puddin
Growing up I didn't go outside much, instead I chose to stay indoors and completely immerse myself in anime, cartoons, comics, and anything else that kept my interest. I began watching shows like DBZ, Outlaw Star, Gundam Wing, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Tenchi Muyo when I was very young with my brother. I was glued to tv when the first episodes of Pokemon and Digimon ever aired, and I couldn't get enough of DC, and Marvel comics. I fell in love with TMNT thanks to watching the original cartoons with my brothers, and as I grew, so did my love for all of these things. Times changed, and I moved on to things like Naruto, Inuyasha, Gundam 00, Code Geass, Gurren Lagann, Death Note and many MANY more. I began playing games like WoW, and Minecraft, and I have never looked back.
But there was something I had never tried, but always wanted to...Cosplay. I didn't know about it until I was about 13, and I envied anyone who had the guts to do it. I had always been a very shy person, always afraid to have the spot light on me because, what if I mess up? What if people laughed at me? What if people see the flaws in my costume? I will admit, these are nagging thoughts that still cause me anxiety, and from the fellow cosplayers who I have talked about this with...These are thoughts that nag them too. But I pushed through those thoughts, a little bit at first. I simply dipped my toe into the cosplay world and made a Sakura outfit for a Halloween party.

I was 16, which meant it took me 3 years to get the courage to even attempt this. After this though, I got into Jrock and Visual Kei fashion. And walking around my town like that, it helped ease the anxiety. Especially when I had people asking where they could buy clothes like the ones I was wearing. I realized at that point that yes, some people will judge me, it's inevitable. But cosplay was something that I really wanted to explore, it was something that I really wanted to do. I wanted to be those characters that I had spent my days wishing to be as a child, and I realized that if I wanted that to happen, I couldn't focus on the judging stares or the what ifs.
My cosplays kept coming, every Halloween, and then sometimes in random parts of the year. Always when I had money to spare, I would be working on something new. I never thought about making tutorials until a friend asked me if I could show her how I made my cosplayers because she liked mine better than store bought. She said she loved how I made them look good, and feel good because they weren't cheap plastic-like materials. Having been part of Youtube for many years before simply making amvs, I realized that it would be the perfect platform to put these tutorials, to not only help her, but anyone else who needed it.
I launched my channel in July of 2012 and I haven't looked back since. I like to think that my cosplay skills have grown along with my knowledge of how to make things. Because I have never gone to any sort of class about costume making, I have simply been taught by my mother, google, and fellow youtubers. I hope to continue to bring you all more tutorials for many years to come, and I hope I can help anyone's skills blossom along with mine ^-^.

Puddin is a new addition to the cosplay on a budget family. I always wanted to have a mascot for my channel, but could never figure out what I wanted. A couple years ago I had made up my own furry species called the Kisae, and upon coming across the picture of it years later, I knew it would be perfect. Puddin is a personality of his own though, he's a helping hand when anyone needs it, but because he is also the idea holder, he likes to wake Miss Cosplay up in the middle of the night with a bunch of ideas for future cosplay stuff.
Here is a little info about the Kisae species as a whole.
Ki-Spirit
Sae-Even (I can't even see it)
A Japanese, spirit cat who protects the home of those it sees fit. The Kisae wears a collar made of Shimenawa, with Gohei hanging from it. The scroll on the front is sealed unless an evil spirit threatens the Kisae's family. Then the scroll will unlock and seal the spirit in ink along the paper.
Every year the Kisae must go into a deep hibernated sleep state in order to use it's purifying energy to send the spirits that are locked in the scroll, back where they belong, wiping the scroll clean. This sleep state can last up to a week depending on the amount of spirits in the scroll. A Kisae, when they make themselves known, are usually a very normal color like, Black, Brown, White ect ect. With an abnormal color only appearing on their chest fur, ears, eyebrows, and nose.
Their eyes are also usually the most striking feature about this feline, the colors can range from normal Blues, Browns, and Greens, to abnormal colors such as Violet or Red. Kisae's are able to speak telepathically to those it is protecting, and can have a playful streak of making itself invisible to onlookers, causing someone to appear as if they are simply talking to themselves.
